: Eating after your workout helps properly feed your growing muscles. Try to eat a full meal within 30 minutes after you complete your workout routine. If you’re doing intense cardio or weightlifting, you can take a day off between sessions or target different areas of your body on alternating days. Or simply vary your routine so you’re not doing intense exercise each day. Protein shakes are a great way to maintain your gains, but that doesn’t give you the green light to start slamming post-workout margaritas.
